Sonnette

June and September 2022, interactive sound installation

“It’s about cow; So, it’s about heritage, a bit. It’s about community too, people trying to do things together. Here are the advice of a local peasant: “If you want, there are three pumps. Worse, either you put yourself with people and you pump, two or three. Well, you can also pump on your own – it looks like an inalpe, but it’s nice too. You can get closer to the cowbell, or not. Worse, you listen…
(pause)
And you pump.
(pause)
You hear the cowbell. And you hear the milking with that: Pschtpscht.
(pause)
Worse, after when you’re exhausted, stop, and you look at the others. »

Sonnette is an interactive sound installation activated by three mechanisms that work in the same way: a pump, which a person from the public can operate to move one of the three axes of the structure.

One, two, or three people become musicians, improvisers of an uncontrollable composition. The cowbell, despite the activation of the public, remains autonomous, sometimes in immobility, sometimes in debauchery.
